Thanks for helping us find issues with our BOINC setup. This project is supporting 185 nanoHUB simulation tools. We've been testing on our systems for a while now, mostly using Linux. Please use the message boards to report any problems you find. Thanks for your help and patience.

nanoHUB has its own job execution infrastructure. We are moving some of those jobs into the BOINC queue, and we obviously don't have the frequency of that movement right yet. Please bear with us.

Hi All,

I am happy to join this project, I attached a Mac mini (intel 4 core cpu) running macOS 10.14, waiting for WU to process.

Cheers,

I've managed to snag a task on Nov 13 for Workunit 185430 that had too many total results, all error while computing and one aborted by user.

So Far fewer than 70 Users have been able to get work units and complete for Credit. Since there are 975 WU's in progress a distribution problem exists.

I would imagine that a fair number of people will not wait around they will just go crunch some other project's work.

All of the applications are marked "vbox64_mt". Do they require VirtualBox?

You would think they would say so someplace.

Yes, VirtualBox is required. I will make that clear on the front page of the site.

Do you have any restrictions on Versions of BOINC Client or VBox ?

Currently I am running 7.14.2 and 5.2.8

No work yet.

Thanks

That version of BOINC and VBox should be fine. We are still trying to find the right frequency for creating WUs.

Thank you for the available work units. The amounts are not large, but 17 days after sighing up this evening I got 21 WU's estimated at 6 minutes each,

Unfortunately they are all failing in under 3 minutes.

example
Application boinc2docker 1.11 (vbox64_mt)
Name 06932670_68
State Computation error
Received 11/23/2018 10:05:38 PM
Report deadline 11/24/2018 6:05:30 AM
Estimated computation size 3,600 GFLOPs
CPU time ---
Elapsed time 00:02:05
Executable vboxwrapper_26198_windows_x86_64.exe

Thank you

On Windows all tasks are ending into an error with your current vboxwrapper version 198.

When I use vboxwrapper_26200_windows_x86_64.exe, all tasks succeed.

I've reduced the needed memory from 3072 to 2048 for this test.

Too low estimated time by server/admin for certain tasks. Therefore abortions and computation errors:
nanoHUB_at_home 24 Nov 22:51:30 Aborting task 06933424_099_0: exceeded elapsed time limit 7569.57 (86400.00G/11.41G)

Most of all new tasks created this afternoon are ending into the same error after saving results:

Did you reset the project to get a different wrapper, or was in inclusive of new wu's?
