Why not to open a "science" section on the forum?
It's a tipical section of boinc projects site

Other requests, if possible:
- a more specific description of what we are crunching. Nanohub has a LOT of simulation tools, so what are we doing?
- if there will be publications thanks to boinc volunteers, it's a good idea to write it on papers

Good points. They have a LOT of submitters and projects. Why not ask each of them to write a short (two sentence) description of what they are doing?

I see a lot of apps in the project folder, like _abase_r9, _archimedes_r71, _bcmsuite_r44, ecc, ecc

With scientific/technical news you can attract new volunteers... (and retain actual participants)
